About

Marcus de la fleur is a Registered Landscape Architect in the state of Illinois. He has 20+ years of experience in developing landscape-centric solutions to stormwater management. His passion lies in the integration of sustainable design, ecology, and stormwater management. In 2009, Marcus founded the design and consulting firm, de la fleur LLC in Chicago.

Marcus received his horticultural degree from the School of Horticulture at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew in London. He graduated with a Masters degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of Sheffield in the UK. He draws from his extensive field experience in sustainable technologies throughout his career. This includes hands-on education in fundamental landscape industry principles during his time in Germany and Switzerland.

Marcus has contributed to the design and management of multiple sustainable projects, some of them LEED registered or certified. He is frequently retained to speak at conferences and seminars. He advocates for and provides easy-to-understand explanations about the principles of sustainable residential stormwater management. He also shares his experiences with the pilot projects One Drop at a Time and One Watt at a Time.
